Daybook, 1836-1841.

Records debits and credits accrued by Jenkins for such activities as making bureaus, tables, picture frames, coffins, etc.; mending work; making window frames and sashes; altering doors and shelves; repairing chairs; repairing and painting wagons and sleighs; and staining and varnishing wooden object. Items Jenkins received on a regular basis included linseed oil, wood, hardware, hats, shoes, and other household articles needed for himself and his family. In the beginning of the volume, Jenkins made a list of time lost because of illness and travel. Numbers beside each entry suggest that Jenkins used a ledger as well as this volume.
